Prince Harry of Wales made his way to Berlin, Germany this weekend to be honored with the Golden Heart Award for all of the charitable work he has done in his young life. Harry was presented with his award during the country’s largest televised event, a show called A Heart for Children. Here are a few photos of Harry being honored by German First Lady Bettina Wulff last night:

Britain’s Prince Harry has been honoured at a live German television gala for his charity and humanitarian work. The German president’s wife, Bettina Wulff, presented Harry the Golden Heart statuette on Saturday at the country’s largest TV charity gala, A Heart for Children. The 26-year-old is patron of several children’s and humanitarian aid charities. He also co-founded an organisation – Sentebale – to help young people in the African country of Lesotho. Harry felt ‘hugely humble’ to win the award and said it would encourage Sentebale and others in Lesotho ‘to redouble our efforts.’ He told guests and the televised audience of millions ‘from the bottom of my heart Vielen Dank (thank you very much). ‘But compared to so many people who devote their whole lives to restoring hope to children around the world, I have done very little’ … The prince arrived in a snowy Berlin which has been hit by the freezing conditions that have crippled transport in Europe. Among the guests were singers Kylie Minogue and Paul Anka. A Heart for Children was started in 1978 by Axel Springer, the founder of the national German newspaper Bild.

While Harry was off being honored for his humanitarianness in Germany, his older brother Prince William of Wales and sister-in-law-to-be Kate Middleton stepped out in England together to attend a charity event in their first official outing since announcing their engagement last month. After the jump, check out a photo of the royal couple and some deets from their event …

Prince William was joined by fiancee Kate Middleton at a charity concert at the couple’s first public engagement since plans for their wedding were announced last month. Miss Middleton walked by the prince’s side as the couple arrived for the Christmas variety show, staged to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. William joked with onlookers, telling one group of teenagers dressed as elves: “Cool hats”. Miss Middleton waved and smiled at well-wishers but said nothing. Prince William was guest of honour at the fund-raising gala in Thursford in Norfolk, which showcased a cast of professional singers, dancers and musicians. The Thursford Christmas Spectacular was a private event but during the interval the prince was to meet a group of young cancer patients from Norfolk and Hertfordshire as well as charity staff. Proceeds from the evening will go towards the construction of the first specialist cancer unit for young people at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, which will cost 2.5 million.

OY! What a whirlwind their lives must be these days. I mean, it’s prolly never an easy thing to be Royalty but with all the new attention placed on the couple in the wake of their engagement … I just bet there is a LOT going on all the time now. The next few months are going to fly by, tho, you just wait and see. These two will be married in no time at all.
