Lucy Hale, who stars in ABC Family‘s teen series Pretty Little Liars as well as the new sequel film Scream 4, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Seventeen magazine. In her coverstory interview, Lucy talks about making scary movies as well as what it takes to really scare her. Click below to check out Lucy‘s Seventeen coverphoto, read an excerpt from her interview and watch behind the scenes video from her photoshoot.

17: How did you end up getting your part in Scream 4?
LH: I was actually supposed to play a different role in the movie, but it conflicted with the Pretty Little Liars schedule. Luckily, they still wanted me to be a part of the movie, so they gave me this different role that’s very secretive. It was very last minute. I got the call maybe two nights before I had to be on a plane to Michigan to go film it. So I couldn’t really wrap my head around what was going on, but it was really flattering that they still wanted me to be a part of it. And the role is very fun and special and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

17: What was life on the Scream set like? Creepy?
LH: Not at all. When you’re filming and you realize that there are actually 40 burly men with cameras standing behind you, it kind of takes away the spooky factor. It’s very eerie and spooky watching the scene, but actually being there is not so scary.

17: Are you a big horror movie fan? Do you get really scared when you watch them?
LH: I love Paranormal Activity and The Exorcist. The Shining is a great one too, but there’s not a lot that scares me. Maybe it’s because I know the other side of it, and I know how movies are made, but it takes a lot for me to get freaked out.

17: What are you afraid of?
LH: I hate flying. I don’t like planes. I get really anxious. That’s the main thing for me. I just hate flying.

17: Have you ever had any real-life scary movie moments?
HP: A couple of years ago, my house was broken into while I was home alone. I was living with my mom, but she wasn’t home at the time. It was the middle of the day, and this guy comes in, and it turns out that he was just mentally insane because I think he had thought he lived there, and he never threatened me. He started going upstairs and into my room, and then he left and I called the cops. It turns out that he had been missing for a couple of days and his parents were looking for him. It was insane.

I LOVED Lucy‘s appearance in Scream 4 but I really, really LOVE her in Pretty Little Liars. I gotta be honest, I’m not a big Seventeen magazine reader but I know there are a lot of PLL fans out there so I thought y’all would enjoy checking out her feature in the mag. Here is behind-the-scenes video from her shoot:

She’s a cutie … I can’t wait for season 2 of PLL to premiere this Summer. There is something about the show that is so infectious, I can’t get enough. More more more … I want more :)
