Stephen King Carrie Remake

So, how does the source of the story itself feel about the Carrie remake?

Well it turns out that Stephen King rather liked the Brian De Palma version, saying that it was even better than his own! Which means that he isn't too keen on a remake, unless…:

“I’ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg.”

A little jab at the Linds, there, but that's okay! Why? Because he brings up two AMAZING project leads who would be perfect for the remake.

Really. Inspired suggestions.

We couldn't think of anyone better than either David Lynch or David Cronenberg (our vote goes to Cronenberg for his use of organics in his horror)!

Seriously, if he has any pull, he needs to make that happen! And who knows, maybe the trade off would be that they DO cast Lindsay — David C. could pull an incredible performance out of her, guaranteed!

What do U think about the remake and these ideas? Did U love the original??
