Stevie Nicks sat down with CNN for a new interview this week to promote the release of her new album In Your Dreams and she spoke very frankly about the fact that she does NOT want Lindsay Lohan to portray her in a biopic about her life. For a few months now there have been rumors going around that Lohan might play Nicks in a new film but Stevie makes it VERY CLEAR in this new interview that Lindsay will “never” play her until she “cleans up her life”. Stevie Nicks has insisted that she won’t allow Lindsay Lohan to play her in a biopic unless the star “cleans up”. Responding to reports that Lohan hopes one day to star as her in a feature film, Fleetwood Mac singer Nicks said that she doesn’t believe the actress is in the right state of mind to take on the role. “She’s never going to [play me],” she vowed to HLN. “That’s never going to happen unless she cleans up her life and becomes the great actress I feel she can be. Everybody thinks I hate her, and it’s not that at all.” Nicks further explained that she actually relates to Lohan’s alleged struggle with substance abuse because she battled cocaine addiction for many years, before kicking the drug for good in the 1980s. “I was completely messed up for a long time and I got it together,” the musician added. “She’s a very talented girl… if she could get it together, she could have a really big career and she could do great things.”
Well now … tells us how you really feel, Stevie. I have to say, tho, it’s refreshing to have a celeb speak so openly and frankly about how they feel about this sort of thing. There is usually a lot of hemming and hawing when people are pressed with direct questions like this. It’s important to remember that Stevie Nicks endured her own substance abuse issues so she knows what she is talking about. Playing the role of Stevie Nicks in a feature film could be a career defining moment for anyone’s career. If Lindsay is truly serious about cleaning up her life and getting her career back on track then she should take Stevie‘s comments to heart and use them for inspiration.
