Last weekend, former Playboy fiancée Crystal Harris was spending what was supposed to be her wedding day sunning herself by a pool in Las Vegas, NV. This weekend, according to photographic evidence from TMZ, Harris is reportedly having the diamond engagement ring given to her by Hugh Hefner appraised in order to possibly sell it for cash. Sooooo romantic, yeah?
Crystal Harris is angling to cash in on the $90,000 engagement ring Hugh Hefner slipped on her finger … with a little help from a San Diego jewelry store. Our jewelry spies were there when Harris stepped inside Prospect Jewelers in La Jolla, CA, asking for an appraisal on the ring. The owner asked Harris if there was any documentation on the quality of the ring (cut, clarity, etc.,) but the playmate was in the dark. So Crystal called over to the Playboy Mansion — on speaker phone — for info on the ring. The person on the other end of the line offered to fax Crystal the info — but not immediately — so Crystal left. Our spy overheard the owner telling Crystal he was sorry to hear about Hef, to which Crystal replied, “Are you kidding? It was all for publicity.”
HMMMM … I’m not sure I totally believe that Crystal made the “publicity” comment but … I suppose it is possible that she did say that. In any event, it seems clear that Crystal is not interested in keeping any mementos from her brief time as Hugh Hefner‘s fiancée … I guess money trumps memories. I’m pretty sure she’ll be able to get quite a pretty penny for her $90k rock. Best of luck to her.
