Last Summer we got our first look at the Britney for Candie’s: The Limited Edition Collection line of clothing that became available for sale at Kohl’s last Fall. Today we are hearing that plans are in the works for Britney to launch another clothing line, this time in conjunction with BCBG. According to a new report, Britney‘s BCBG clothing line will be sold at Sears and is supposedly called Spears For Sears.
2011 is shaping up to be a massive year for our girl Britney Spears. Her new single Hold It Against Me stormed onto radio last week and debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Now comes word that Britney may be teaming up with BCBG to launch an exclusive clothing collection for Sears. According to reports, the line will be called “Spears for Sears” (cute, no?) and feature a mix of casual attire and outfits perfect for a date or concert. This won’t be Britney’s first time designing a collection. She also put her stamp on a line of clothing and accessories for Candie’s last year, while also appearing in their campaigns.
HMMM … I mean … while the name of the line is clever, I’m not sure that I believe this “news” just yet. Britney‘s deal with Candie’s is still in effect (as far as I’m aware) and I’m certain the company will do everything it can to keep working with her. That being said, Sears has been throwing a lot of money around to attract celebrity designers to work with them and if Sears is able to give Britney a handsome deal, well, I can’t see how her people wouldn’t jump at the chance to have her design with BCBG (even if the clothes will eventually be sold at Sears). I’m gonna take this news with a grain of salt … but I’d be remiss if I didn’t pass along the possibility that this new clothing line might actually happen.
