After a two year hiatus completely off the air, The Game - which was canceled by the CW in 2009 - has returned for a fourth season on BET, and debuted last night to a record-breaking 7.7 million viewers, a number one original telecast for the network!
Executive producer Salim Akil says:
"We're coming out hitting hard. We really hope it opens BET up to more voices, to more people being able to come in and pitch shows and have a variety of different scripted shows on the network. BET has been absolutely top-notch in the way that they've been handling this, from allowing us to be creatively free…to the advertising to now having the cast at TCA. All of the things that we didn't get over there at CW, we're getting at BET. As a person and a viewer in any art form, you want to see yourself represented."
Those kind of numbers are ridiculous! Especially for a show that was virtually off the air for TWO years!
It must have made QUITE an impact during its initial run with viewers, and we're thrilled that it now has the opportunity to be back on TV!
Congratulations, guys! We hope that those kind of numbers continue for you!
Thoughts??
