If she's not in your movie, why are you still talking to the press about her?!

Director Matthew Wilder, who is directing the Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno without Lindsay Lohan in the title role, is STILL using her as a means to promote his movie, and now backtracking on how 'committed' he once was to her involvement in the flick!

He says:

“I feel like 16 tons of weight are off my mind not having to deal with the Lindsay Lohan situation. We have not heard anything from Lindsay and her camp recently but we wish her and them well. I still think she has great talent and if she respects those gifts then she will go on to show people what she is capable of doing. We're scheduled to start filming in February now and are really looking forward to moving forward without any distractions.”

Meanwhile, he claims replacement Malin Alkerman "is sensitive and hard-working and I think it’s a great decision for our project."

How quickly his tune changes!

Yeah, we're sure he'll be giving LOTS more interviews regarding the project, but we're still skeptical to see if it ever makes it out of 'pre-production!'
