At Thursday night's MOJO Awards, John Lydon -- a.k.a. Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols -- announced his house had burned down, saying:
"Welcome to Rotten World. My wife rang me up just before we were going on stage. She said 'Oh John, I don't want to disturb you. The house has burnt down.'...'Of all things it was a spin dryer, can you imagine Johnny Rotten's trousers being cleaned and dried? Well guess what - first time I try to get clean the house goes up in flames."
At least he's got a sense of humor about it.
Despite his rotten luck, the former Sex Pistol was just happy to hear that his wife was okay and called it "the best news I've ever had in my whole life."
Aww! Such an unfortunate event, but we believe home is where the heart is, so we're sure John and his wife will make due despite the hefty repair bills they're facing.
