For the past couple of weeks we’ve been seeing a few fun photos from the Michigan set of Scream 4 … and today is no exception. Here are a couple photos of the beautiful Courteney Cox-Arquette in the role of Gale Weathers on set this week:
But … other photos of Courteney as Gale have come to light that may prove to be VERY SPOILERY for a film that isn’t due out in theaters until next year. The first three films were famous for their plot twists and surprise endings, and by the looks of it, the next instalment will be no different. Courteney Cox was photographed on the set of Scream 4 clutching the famous ghost mask worn by her former nemesis, the killer. This has led to speculation that she might be switching sides in this film, and donning the costume that has terrified audiences for more than a decade. Courteney’s character, news reporter Gale Weathers, could also have just found the mask discarded, and is being chased herself. Either way, fans will have to wait until the film’s release in April 2011 to find out. On location on a remote farm outside Detroit, Courteney, 46, looked a little nervous to be standing amongst the dark forest, despite being surrounded by film crew. The actress was wearing a casual outfit of leather jacket, black jeans and boots, suggesting she will be filming a a chase scene. Whether she will be the pursuer or pursued remains to be seen. Earlier that day, a barn t the location was set up to look like a typical horror scene from the film franchise, with ‘scarecrows’ wearing the killer’s outfit of ghost mask and cape erected around the premises with bloodied knives attached.
Yesterday we saw a whole slew of photos from the Scream 4 set that feature the ghostface killer mask all over the fictional town of Woodsboro. Considering this is the 4th film and they will be doing everything they can to surprise the audience with a tricky twist ending, I suppose it’s possible that Gale could be the killer … but it seems too obvious to me. Just because she’s holding the mask does not mean she’s the killer … in fact, I think it means just the opposite. If she were the killer, why would she be holding it … unless, she’s trying to throw us off from believing she’s the killer by making it look like she’s the killer. ACK! Damn Scream and their twist endings! What do y’all think … is Gale the killer this time around? If not, who do YOU think the killer will be?
