Perhaps in an effort to get over the recent drama over his split from former fiancée Crystal Harris, Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner was in a playful mood yesterday and was talked into posing for a planking photo by his “number one girlfriend” Anna Sophia Berglund. Planking, as you may know, is the practice of posing for photos as you lay flat on your stomach, face down. Tho, to be honest, Hef‘s photo looks like he’s merely taking one of his regular naps as most 85 year old men are wont to do. It looks like he’s just passed on the dining room table after a hard night drinking with the Playboy bunnies. But Hugh Hefner is actually making a half-hearted attempt at planking. The 85-year-old is determined to keep up with the latest crazes – and keep his new girlfriends happy after he was dumped by fiancée Crystal Harris, 25. In one picture he can be seen wearing black silk pyjamas, lying at one end of the table, with his head facing the camera, at his famous Playboy Mansion in the Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. Dirty plates and glasses can be seen at the other end of the table. Hef’s new ‘number one’ girlfriend Anna Sophia Berglund – who also happens to be Crystal’s best friend – posted the picture on her Twitter account, saying ‘I got Hef to plank!’. But she appears to have regretted to tell him that planking actually involves lying face down in an unusual location. Some of Anna’s worried followers initially thought there was something wrong with the magazine mogul. One wrote: ‘Oh honey. I was scared for a second ! If I hadn’t known Hef was planking, I would have told you to check his pulse. In another picture – with a lot more flesh on display – Hef’s Playboy bunnies have a go at the fad. Included are Anna, Hef’s “second” girlfriend Shera Bechard, Miss January 2010 Jaime Edmondson, Miss March 2009 Jenn Pershing, Miss October 2010 Claire Sinclair, and Playboy models Trisha Frick and Cristal Camden, who was one of Hef’s seven girlfriends in 2003. They are lined up alongside one another on the table, with the used plates having been cleared. Hef can be seen behind them pulling the thumbs up.
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The fact that someone though Hef was dying rather than planking is pretty solid proof that the Internet fad is better left to younger folks … but, then again, Hugh Hefner is not your run of the mill 85 year old man. After all, he has made it plainly clear that he is still very sexual active and that he enjoys bedding multiple partners … even at his advanced age. I mean … I don’t really get the appeal of planking but … it looks easy enough to do. I like laying down and sleeping, does that count?
