Back in March we learned that Air New Zealand has a fun way of operating their airline when they hired longtime fitness guru Richard Simmons to film one of their inflight air safety videos. Today we learn that the company has created an online talk show, starring a furry puppet named Rico, in an attempt to generate even more attention for their airline. Air New Zealand managed to score a sit down interview with Lindsay Lohan while she was still under house arrest so that she could appear on the web show On the SkyCouch with Rico. Curious? Check out the interview in full below.

During her last week of house arrest, Lindsay Lohan – “the queen of comebacks” sat down with her new furry friend for an exclusive tell-all interview. “On the SkyCouch with Rico” – the new web-series for Air New Zealand’s YouTube channel was invited into Lohan’s private Venice home to get all the latest news and gossip – straight from the starlet herself! Too bad Today Show’s, Matt Lauer (who was confirmed to interview Lohan at her home the day before Rico spoke to her) wasn’t so lucky – looks like Rico is bringing on the competition from down under! Rico – the recent talk-show sensation – chatted with the infamous starlet about everything from Kim Kardashian’s upcoming nuptials, to the non-stop paparazzi and even discussed her love for jewelry!

I’m always … surprised … by major corporations that choose to align themselves with … let’s say, dubious celebrities. In Air New Zealand‘s case, I can see that their unorthodox way of promoting their company might have room to associate themselves with a trainwreck like Lindsay Lohan. I don’t, personally, see the value overall but the fact that we’re talking about it right now is proof that the ploy works … at least, on some level. The interview is cute, I suppose. I dunno … what do y’all think? Are you impressed or even entertained by this video?
